The grandfather clock doesn't chime because it may not have been wound or set properly. Grandfather clocks typically need to be wound regularly to keep accurate time and to chime. On the other hand, the bell chimes because it is likely a separate mechanism that is not reliant on being wound like the grandfather clock. The bell may be operated manually or by an electronic mechanism, allowing it to chime without the need for regular winding. **

It only rains now because we are in the rainy season. Rainfall patterns are influenced by various factors such as the position of the sun, the Earth's tilt, and the movement of air masses. During the rainy season, the prevailing weather patterns bring more moisture and precipitation to the region, resulting in increased rainfall. As the season changes, the weather patterns shift, leading to a decrease in rainfall. **

An old clock gives the number of chimes equal to the current hour. For example, if the current time is 3 o'clock, the old clock will chime 3 times. If the current time is 7 o'clock, the old clock will chime 7 times. This is a traditional way for old clocks to indicate the current hour to those who may not be able to see the clock face. **

It may feel like it only rains on you now due to a cognitive bias known as selective perception. This bias causes us to pay more attention to negative events, like rain, and overlook positive ones. It's important to remember that rain is a natural occurrence that affects everyone, not just you. It's also possible that recent weather patterns or changes in your local climate are contributing to the perception that it only rains on you. **

Rain shadow deserts are called so because they are formed as a result of a rain shadow effect. This occurs when moist air from the ocean is forced to rise over a mountain range, causing it to cool and release its moisture as rain or snow on the windward side of the mountains. As the air descends on the leeward side, it warms and becomes drier, creating a rain shadow effect. This results in a dry and arid climate on the leeward side of the mountains, leading to the formation of rain shadow deserts. **
